the title change

was something which struck me quite suddenly when i was doing my bible study on the gospel. it was the passage from Luke 24 where it talked about two men who were on the road to emmaus.

They were talking about Jesus' crucifixion and were joined by a stranger. Unbeknown to them, it was the Lord Jesus himself but they failed to recognise him. Only till the very end of the journey, did Jesus then reveal Himself and disappeared.

They asked 'Weren't our hearts burning as we talked to him?'

I paraphrased quite a bit but that's the gist of it. the passage was so powerful when i first read it, that i went 'THIS IS SOMETHING I WANT TO SHARE.'

truly, i have only started walking on this road.

Divine Intervention

has stepped in for me this week, or rather, last week. I have experienced the power of God's working in my life. No kidding.

I submitted my application for a certain bank, and FINALLY got a response that my application had advanced to the next stage!! HAPPINESS. i completed the numeracy test and waited (am still waiting) anxiously for my application to be advanced further, if possible.

I looked through my application a few times but never did check the attachment i put. i clicked on the attachment to see how lame my cv would be AND OMG!!!! IT WAS THE WRONG FILE!!!

The file started with "DEAR SIR I AM APPLYING FOR A POSITION WITH LEHMAN BROTHERS ASIA..." WTH?!?!?! letter was dated 20 march so u cn'at blame me.

THE THING IS...

why would the bank still advance my application if my attachment was SO GROSSLY WRONG? only one reason: God saved the day for me.

And the smugness in me for having done a beautiful application crumbled immediately. Indeed, the power of God's hand is seriously more than what i could have ever thought it eo be.

If i get through, i know very well that God opened this special door for me.

success.

i went to the market ALONE today since my family practically abandoned me. i thought it necessary if i were to survive life overseas and as my friend nicely, 'one step closer to ur dinner party hosting i guess'.

the first stall i visited was the fish stall. thing is, i know names of fish but i have no idea how they look like. for the life of me, i can only identify pomfret, and sea bass. No prizes for guessing what i bought. plus, to save my ass, i managed to get clams! yumms.

went around the market to get what i wanted to eat for the week plus instructions from the mother. i was supposed to get braised duck and being ever STUPID, i ended up getting roasted duck.

everybody say 'okkkkkk'.

so that ends my little adventure in the market, which i highly doubt is the last of experiences to come.

bonjour

i think french is one of those languages which i have to DIE learning. ok sounds wrong. let's try again. french is one of those languages which i have to learn before i die, assuming i don't die so soon.

oui?

oui.

i've been picking up tips from the bbc website which has LOVELY french exercises, pronounciation tools and etc for the beginner. and it's FREE. omg! tres' bien!!

forgive me if i use the wrong words.

big big heart to french. one of those little pursuits to make life a little more interesting and to remind myself of God's wonderfully big heart in creating the french language. merci.

the end of the year is coming soon, and it seems time just flew by. and i will soon wake up, wondering if everything i had experienced in the summer was simply just a dream.

random.

and it's time to head to bed. bonne nuit.
tu me manques

a part of me dies

everytime i think of it.  the sport i thought i loved, but it seems that quite isn't the case.

i am rather successful at amputating anything which stands in the my way of my pragmatic philosophy- if it's something i hate, wastes my time or simply doesn't make sense to continue even though it's fun, i rather just annex it completely.

and that's why i say a part of me dies everytime i make such decisions.

and today, another part of me just died.

i'm tired. i don't need this. and yes, i would rather let this part die. do i really want it? no. do i really need it? no.

so the question then remains, will there be regret at the end of the day?

then again, how can you have regret for something that is long dead in one's heart?
